Bristol HSSU Hub (Bradley Stoke BS32 4QA) | Sterile Services | Bank | Ad Hoc
£12.33 per hour, depending on experience

Our Hospital Sterile Services Unit (HSSU) transports sterile and disinfected surgical equipment to our local hospital network. If you have a full driving license with a C1 entitlement which allows you to drive rigid vehicles up to 7.5 tons Gross Vehicle Weight (GVW) and hold a digital tachograph card, you could enjoy the benefits of joining the UK’s largest Healthcare Charity.

A full Driver Qualification card (CPC - Certificate of Professional Competence) is advantageous but full training is available.

As a Driver on our Bristol HSSU team, you’re comfortable with manual handling and happy to move transport trolleys weighing upwards of 250kg. As well as a basic knowledge of current driver hour legislation, you ideally hold a driver digital tachograph card. You’ll be a great ambassador for our unit and our customers’ first point of contact.

What We’re Looking For

• A full driving licence with a C1 entitlement (allows you to drive vehicles up to 7.5 tonnes GVW)
• Confidence in manual handling, including moving transport trolleys weighing upwards of 250kg
• Basic knowledge of current driver hour legislation
• A digital tachograph card (preferred)
• A friendly and professional attitude, as you will be the first point of contact for our customers

Key Responsibilities

• Collect and deliver medical equipment using 5.2T vehicles
• Receive and check deliveries from customers
• Ensure equipment is in good working order and report any faults
• Maintain a clean and organised work environment
• Keep accurate tachograph records and documentation
