Description

Are you an experienced Health, Safety, Environment and Quality professional looking for a new challenge with a leading contractor? You have an exciting opportunity to join a reputable civil engineering contractor operating across the utilities and civil engineering sector as their HSEQ Advisor, covering schemes across the Midlands. Due to the nature of the projects involved, you will have demonstrable experience of civil engineering environments and mitigating the risk in these environments. Water Utilities experience is preferable but not essential.

Reporting into the Head of HSEQ you will be:

  1. Visiting various sites and integrate with the delivery teams and providing a solutions-led approach
  2. Providing operational safety, health, environment and quality support throughout the region
  3. Conducting regular site inspections to support operational staff working across civil engineering and rail schemes
  4. Providing a key liaison in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality with internal and external stakeholders
  5. Driving best practice in a challenging health and safety environment

Knowledge of safety, health & environmental legislation and current construction practices is key. You will also be:

  1. NEBOSH-qualified (MINIMUM)
  2. Experienced in utilities or civil engineering projects (ESSENTIAL)
  3. Experienced in Rail (PREFERABLE)
  4. CEnv or AIEMA (ESSENTIAL)
  5. Dynamic and personable
  6. Able to engage with site teams with safety, health and environment issues
  7. Driven and autonomous
