About Hinkley Point C / MEH Alliance

The first new nuclear power station to be built in the UK in over 20 years; Hinkley Point C in Somerset will provide low-carbon electricity for around 6 million homes, create thousands of jobs and bring lasting benefits to the UK economy.

Marking a significant milestone in the revitalisation of our nuclear power industry, Hinkley Point C will make a major contribution to the UKs move to reduce carbon emissions. The electricity generated by its two EPR reactors will offset 9 million tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions a year, or 600 million tonnes over its 60-year lifespan.

What you'll be doing

As a H&E Advisor, you will have the following accountabilities:

  • Conduct inspections and observation of site activities and sub-contractor operations per shift and record within insight.
  • Carry out HSE inspections across the site, including at height, in confined spaces etc. Report any trends to relevant discipline manager as soon as identified.
  • Intervene when unsafe practices are observed, offering solutions to observations made.
  • Participate in training and support to become H&S subject matter expert.
  • Play an active role in supporting accident incident management.
  • Have knowledge and understanding of the site procedures, monitor compliance within the field.
  • Provide competent specialist advice on identified topics, specifically COSHH.
Who we're looking for

  • NEBOSH general certificate/NEBOSH construction certificate or equivalent.
  • Strong construction background with a minimum of 5 years' experience.
  • Ability to communicate HSE procedures and expectations to a range of people.
  • Working knowledge of the Health and Safety regulations.
  • Suitable site experience in a similar role, preferably in the nuclear industry would be beneficial.
  • Able to obtain a security clearance.
