HSE Manager

Alexander Steele are working in partnership with a global food manufacturing business based in the West Midlands. They are currently looking for a EHS Lead to champion & lead the HSE function/agenda across the operation, someone who can influence at all levels across this blue chip business and reporting to the UK Head of EHS.

My client has a significant investment plan and due to growth within their manufacturing capabilities, we are tasked with bringing in an EHS Lead who will not only lead this vertical but also future proof the site by leading the long & short term strategy.

Ideally, you will have a background within a HSE role within FMCG manufacturing; if not, we will consider individuals who operate in businesses with a high degree of strict regulations or that operate in highly hazardous environments.

The Role:

1. Ensuring the HS systems comply with legislation and corporate requirements.
2. Developing and implementing continuous improvement within EHS management systems and EHS plans throughout the site.
3. Working alongside regulatory bodies, reporting to them when an accident & incident investigation is being undertaken.
4. Review and develop risk assessments on site, also ensuring all staff are suitably trained for tasks being carried out.
5. Carry out regular EHS inspections, promote staff to report near misses & hazards within the workplace and ensure actions are closed out from reports.

The Candidate:

1. IOSH managing safety and NEBOSH qualified or any other relevant qualifications.
2. Previous experience in Health and Safety legislation.
3. Worked in an FMCG environment - preferably food manufacturing, but not essential.
4. Strong communicator.

Whats On Offer:

1. Working Hours - Monday to Friday 9am till 5.30pm although you will need to be flexible at times.
2. Salary - Up to £55k dependent on experience.
3. Bonus.
