Job Description:

My client is a SEND secondary school located in Grove Park, Lewisham, and they are looking for a part-time HR Manager to work 2 days a week. Salary: PO1. Working hours: 21 hours per week, term time only + 3 weeks (42 weeks per year in total). Part-time 2 days per week; 3 days would also be considered dependent on experience.

Qualifications/Training (Essential)

  1. Education to at least a Level 3 Diploma and/or experience in a similar role.
  2. Hold or working towards a HR qualification:
    • CIPD (Chartered Institute of Personnel and Development) Level 5 qualification or above and/or CIPD Chartered Membership
    • SHRM-SCP (Society for Human Resource Management - Senior Certified Professional)
    • Human Resources Undergraduate Degree and/or Master's Equivalent
  3. Experience of using a wide range of ICT software, information systems in an administrative environment. Effective use of specialist ICT packages.
  4. Excellent numeracy/literacy skills to at least Level 3 or equivalent experience.

Main Purpose:

The HR Manager:

  1. Is responsible for administration and management of all areas of human resources and recruitment as directed by School Business Leader, Headteacher, and Deputies.
  2. Assists the School Business Leader providing responsive and proactive people-related advisory service to all employees, Headteacher, Senior Leadership Team (SLT), and Governors on employment legislation, policies and procedures, conditions of service, and best practice employment developments.
  3. Is responsible for GDPR compliance across the school, ensuring associated policies are in place and staff are adhering to them.
  4. Is responsible for the administration of the Single Central Record.
  5. Is responsible for the Staff Census Return.
