Network HR are partnering with a global professional services firm who are looking for a HR Manager to join for a 6 months FTC (with the opportunity to become permanent). Reporting to the Head of People & Culture, and working closely with the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and other Directors, this role is responsible for the day to day running of the People & Culture team, and the delivery of HR projects to agreed timescales.

This role would suit a true HR generalist who is able to thrive working in a small, lean HR function within a global firm.

Responsibilities:

  1. Employee relations: guide and advise Directors with policy interpretation to ensure legal compliance in the management of general employee relations issues, e.g. performance, capability and conduct to ensure fair and consistent management decisions, especially during the Acting Head of People & Culture’s absence.
  2. Be contactable for staff who wish to speak confidentially to a member of the People & Culture team.
  3. Prepare and/or thoroughly review/check letters related to job changes, role changes, contractual terms changes, contracts and consultancy extensions, homeworking agreements, leaver’s letters, references, and any other correspondence not requiring the Acting Head of People & Culture’s signature.
  4. Ensure maintenance of appropriate policies and procedures to accurately reflect legislative requirements and company policy.
  5. Ensure proficient use of the HR Database, producing management reports.
  6. Monitor the costs against budgets with support from the HR Advisor and report to the Acting Head of People & Culture on the current spend.
  7. Lead ad hoc HR related projects e.g. redundancy, performance management, job evaluation, mergers and acquisitions.
  8. Provide legislation related and best practice advice and assist with the process preparation and documentation for downsizing, disciplinary, grievance, TUPE exercises.
  9. Stand in for the Head of People & Culture during absences together with the People & Culture team as, and when needed.
  10. Assist the Acting Head of People & Culture with advice and support/organise activities associated with mergers and acquisitions, office closures, if required.

Background:

  1. MCIPD with proven successful change management experience.
  2. Ability to work confidentially and discretely at all times.
  3. Conscientious, helpful, personable and able to work well on their own initiative.
  4. Highly organised and efficient, with the ability to prioritise.
  5. Experience in a similar role required.
  6. Experience of working in either a professional services or creative environment.
  7. Proficient use of HR Database – Cascade.
  8. Advanced knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook essential.
  9. Excellent project management and communication skills.
  10. Experience in new systems implementation and personality profiling would be desirable.
