Are you an experienced and proactive HR professional looking to make a real difference? We're seeking a dynamic HR Manager to lead all aspects of human resources for a leading Luton-based not-for-profit organisation.


This is a hands-on, high-impact role where you'll shape strategy, ensure compliance, and foster employee engagement, helping our talented team thrive in a positive and inclusive workplace.


The position is part-time working three days per week.


What You'll Do

  1. HR Management: Develop and implement HR policies aligned with the organisation's goals.
  2. Compliance & Policy: Ensure HR practices meet employment laws and industry best practices.
  3. Recruitment & Onboarding: Lead hiring processes and onboarding to reflect the organisation's values.
  4. Performance Management: Oversee appraisals and support line managers with performance issues.
  5. Employee Relations: Be the go-to advisor for HR queries, grievances, and disciplinary matters.
  6. Reward & Recognition: Manage benefits strategies and support retention initiatives.
  7. Training & Development: Design training programmes to support professional growth and compliance.
  8. Reporting: Provide HR updates and insights to the leadership team and the board.

What They are Looking For

  1. Proven experience in a standalone HR Manager role with a strong focus on strategy and leadership.
  2. Comprehensive knowledge of employment law and HR best practices.
  3. A CIPD qualification or equivalent (or working towards it).
  4. Excellent organisational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  5. Experience of working with unions or similar organisations is highly desirable.
