This is a hands-on, pragmatic role that would suit someone confident and experienced, who can provide calm, professional leadership and positively influence both managers and employees. We are open to considering a 4-day week for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily HR operations at the Derby site, with weekly support for South Yorkshire

  • Provide clear, practical guidance on employee relations and employment legislation

  • Support and develop a junior HR team, building capability and consistency

  • Oversee recruitment, onboarding, and training activities

  • Support Learning & Development initiatives to foster employee growth

  • Manage succession planning, performance processes, and HR budgets

  • Monitor and report on key HR metrics including absence, performance, and engagement

  • Ensure compliance with employment law, internal policies, and external standards
