This role supports the Group Functions HR Director & Head of HR and works closely with the HR team across the UK geography. This role involves partnering closely with business leaders and their teams to provide strategic HR support that helps drive organisational performance and employee engagement, identifying business goals and priorities and delivering the people plans required for enabling these priorities. The role is also responsible for the end-to-end HR service for its business area.

Key Duties and Responsibilities:

HR Service and Processes

  • Support the Head of HR, in delivering the HR Service for Group Functions, working with Centres of Excellence/ HR Specialist colleagues to deliver aligned and pragmatic HR solutions.
  • Brings insights to create the long-term business plan and provide HR solutions as appropriate.
  • Ensures HR processes are implemented effectively by line managers (e.g. performance, reward, talent).
  • Acts as Project Manager for key projects across Group Functions.

Employee Relations

  • Provides advice and support to line managers on policy/ER topics/Casework and ensures policies are embedded.
  • Partners with, and coaches, leaders and line managers on all people management and leadership topics.

Talent Development

  • Proactive career and talent management of the population, including identifying opportunities for talent development and mobility across the organisation, succession planning and external talent pipelining.
  • Drives and assesses the impacts of capability and learning plans.

Culture/Engagement/Change

  • Acts as change leader/champion for key projects – brings change expertise to support leaders.
  • Provides expertise to drive employee engagement and culture plans – including our BEST values and a high-performance culture.
  • Drives organisation development and team effectiveness plans, acts as the expert for the business area.
  • Works closely with our culture and engagement teams, to create and embed initiatives across the business.
  • Owns the people data sets for the UKI in Workday, in collaboration with leaders/ managers.
  • Collaborate with UKI and Global teams on best practice to continuously improve/develop initiatives/programs/processes and policies.

Knowledge/Qualifications:

  • CIPD Level 5 or equivalent
  • Working knowledge of current UKI employment law and legislation

Technical/Professional Experience:

  • Experience of Talent and Reward - has implemented process/advised & coached line managers
  • Passion for using data to drive decision making
  • Previous experience of developing people plans to drive business priorities and organisation development plans to embed change
  • Proven ability to drive change/restructuring projects
  • Experience of leading Employee Relations cases – performance management, grievance, disciplinary, absence
  • Proven ability to work as an integrated member of a business team - can give insight/opinion on a wider range of business topics
  • Builds credibility and trust quickly with key stakeholders/leaders and acts with integrity, flexing style according to appropriate business levers/context
  • Excellent at spotting opportunities to collaborate, find efficiencies and link solutions to live business projects
  • Previous experience of using Workday desirable but not essential
