Hours: 4 days office-based, 1 day working from home
Salary: £60,000 + £416 monthly car allowance

Duration: Initial 6-month fixed-term contract, with the possibility of becoming permanent.

KPI Recruiting is proud to be working in partnership with our client based in Irlam to recruit a commercially-minded and strategically focused HR Business Partner. This is an excellent opportunity for a confident and experienced HR professional with a strong logistics or transport background to join a dynamic and fast-paced team.

Based in Irlam, this role offers regional responsibility, working closely with senior leadership and operational teams across the North West and Midlands, playing a key role in delivering the people strategy and driving business performance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Act as a strategic partner to Business Unit Directors, supporting the implementation of the people strategy.
  • Lead on talent management, employee engagement, succession planning and organisational design.
  • Manage complex employee relations issues, including TUPE, disciplinaries, grievances and union negotiations.
  • Partner with key stakeholders across HR Centres of Excellence.
  • Provide HR support in tenders, new business wins, and contract renewals, including mobilisation planning and integration.
  • Champion business change initiatives, embedding continuous improvement across sites.
  • Support and coach operational leaders, helping to build management capability.
  • Contribute to commercial decision-making with a strong focus on HR metrics, performance data and business acumen.

Requirements:

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in a logistics, supply chain, or transport setting.
  • Strong knowledge of UK employment law, including TUPE regulations.
  • Extensive stakeholder management experience at senior leadership and operational levels.
  • Track record of supporting bids, tenders, and business growth projects from an HR perspective.
  • Experience working in a unionised, multi-site environment.
  • Strong background in employee relations and industrial relations.
  • Experience leading change management and employee engagement initiatives.
  • Commercially astute with excellent relationship-building and influencing skills.
  • Confident using HR data and metrics to support decision-making.

  • Confident, proactive, and able to influence at a senior level.
  • Adaptable with strong facilitation, negotiation, and coaching abilities.
  • Excellent communicator with a collaborative, team-first approach.
  • Able to work flexibly, with regular travel to multiple sites.
