Job description

As an HR Business Partner, you will be working with the Management teams of 3 sites on the Isle of Wight and providing comprehensive HR services.

The HR Business Partner will be an enthusiastic and highly efficient, organised person with the ability to work as part of the team and independently. You will be capable of multitasking in a fast-paced environment, while mentoring and coaching managers in the application of HR policies and practices.

The HR Business Partner will be expected to provide advice, support and guidance to senior leaders on the full range of standard and complex employee relations and casework with an emphasis on improving performance management. The HR Business Partner will carry out proactive intervention at an informal level and provide training and support for managers to drive forward people-led improvement.

The HR Business Partner will work closely with managers on tracking and maintaining the staffing establishment and effective workforce planning, taking into account the changing delivery needs.

In collaboration with the central teams, you will be expected to set up, develop and implement new processes and systems, review and improve standard letters, forms and checklists for employee relations and recruitment issues, ensuring high standards of service delivery and quality standards.

Candidates

We are seeking an experienced HR Business Partner. Level 5 CIPD as a minimum.

Essential

  • Stakeholder management: experience of partnering in dedicated business areas, advising on generic HR/people-related matters.
  • Well-developed skills in managing complex employee relations cases with the ability to recognise key risks and provide commercial, risk-based advice and proactive support to line managers.
  • Demonstrated success in drafting and implementing HR policies and procedures.
  • Experience in workforce planning, talent management and, ideally, organisational equality/inclusion agenda.
  • Developing and implementing recruitment and candidate attraction strategies.
  • Facilitating HR/people related training events.

Desirable

  • Education, local authority or public sector experience.
  • Project managing change initiatives and organisational development projects.
  • Line management of administrative HR staff.

Skills and knowledge

  • The ability to extract management information, analyse and interpret the data utilising Excel as appropriate and make balanced recommendations on findings.
  • Able to communicate in a clear, concise and accurate manner using both a range of media.
  • Proven ability to prioritise conflicting priorities, exercise sound judgement, anticipate issues and respond quickly to emerging people matters.
  • Ability to maintain discretion at all times and use initiative.
  • Must be a self-starter and able to deliver results without day-to-day oversight.
  • A strong team-working and customer-focused ethic.
  • High level of IT and HR system competence and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.

Permanent Role
Hybrid with travel to sites on the Isle of Wight circa 3 days per week and occasionally Southampton.
