HR Assurance Manager
Location: London, UK (Remote Working)

Job Purpose:

The HR Assurance Manager is responsible for implementing and overseeing the global HR governance and assurance framework, ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory standards.

Reporting to the Head of Governance and Assurance, this role ensures that HR policies, processes, and controls across the organization are robust, compliant, and aligned with business objectives.

This role is fully remote, with occasional meetings in the London office, and will initially cover a maternity leave (Head of Governance & Assurance) before transitioning back into the Assurance Manager's position.

Key Responsibilities:

Governance & Framework Development:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain the global HR governance and assurance framework.
  • Ensure alignment of HR policies and procedures with the organization's strategic objectives.
  • Regularly review and update the framework to adapt to changes in legal, regulatory, and business environments.

Compliance & Risk Management:

  • Monitor compliance with legal, regulatory, and internal standards across all HR functions.
  • Conduct regular audits and risk assessments of HR processes and controls.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate HR-related risks, ensuring effective controls are in place.

Policy Management & Development:

  • Oversee the development and implementation of HR policies and procedures.
  • Ensure HR policies are communicated effectively and consistently enforced.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvements to enhance efficiency and effectiveness.

Internal Controls & Audits:

  • Work closely with Senior Management to develop internal HR controls and lead audits across the organization to ensure compliance with governance frameworks.

Assurance & Reporting:

  • Develop and track KPIs related to HR governance and compliance performance.
  • Prepare and present regular reports on HR compliance and assurance activities to senior management.
  • Analyse data to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Ensure accurate documentation and record-keeping of all assurance activities.

Stakeholder Management & Communication:

  • Collaborate with HR teams globally to ensure consistent application of governance and assurance standards.
  • Provide guidance and support to HR teams on compliance-related issues.
  • Liaise with external auditors and regulatory bodies as required.

Training & Development:

  • Lead global training initiatives for HR teams to ensure understanding of governance frameworks, compliance obligations, and best practices.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in HR, Law, Business, or related fields (Master’s preferred).
  • Professional certification in HR, governance, or compliance (e.g., CIPD, SHRM, CIPP, etc.) is preferred.
  • 6+ years of experience in HR governance, risk management, or compliance, ideally within a global organization.
  • Expertise in global HR regulations, GDPR, and international governance frameworks.
  • Experience managing projects in a remote environment, ensuring high levels of collaboration.
  • Ability to work with senior stakeholders and translate strategic goals into actionable governance plans.
  • Proven ability to influence governance initiatives across regions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • High attention to detail and organizational skills.
  • Proficiency in using HR information systems and audit tools.
