Job Description

1. Provide guidance and support with Employee Relations cases and associated meetings (including absence management, performance management, discipline and grievance).
2. Advise line managers on all HR matters providing advice, support and direction on the full range of HR activities (employee relations, performance management, policies and procedures) as required.
3. Support the HR Manager with all employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, capability, TUPE including attending hearings as note taker and advisor.
4. Manage the recruitment lifecycle including advertising vacancies, arranging interviews, sending regret letters, completing and documenting all new starter pre-employment checks, and preparing new starter administration.
5. Manage and track Employee Checks including DBS and Right to Work checks ensuring full compliance with legal and contractual obligations.
6. Manage and track the probationary period process.
7. Maintain employee files and records both on the HRIS and paper HR filing system.
8. Support Managers with the management of sickness and absence including cases that require referral to Occupational Health or use of a capability process.
9. Assist with the maintenance and revision of Company Policies to reflect legislative changes.
10. Contribute towards the continuous improvement of procedures and processes within the HR department.
11. Facilitate Occupational Health visits by managing the schedule and recording reports appropriately.
12. Provide monthly information for payroll to include new starter/leaver information, employment changes and any matter affecting individuals' pay.
13. Compile data when required.
14. Assist with HR projects as directed by Head of HR.
15. Co-operate and comply with all safe working procedures, report unsafe conditions and take responsibility for the health and safety of yourself and that of others who may be affected by your actions.

The Successful Applicant

A successful HR Advisor should have:

1. CIPD level 5 qualified / CIPD level 7 desirable.
2. Knowledge of relevant HR Policies and Procedures.
3. Knowledge of best practice on recruitment and selection.
4. Excellent verbal communication skills to deal with a diverse workforce.
5. Ability to produce succinct, relevant correspondence and reports.
6. Intermediate level MS Office.
7. Ability to demonstrate experience in a similar HR role within a manual work environment.
8. Experience of providing advice and support to senior managers on all areas of Human Resources.
9. Experience of dealing with sensitive and confidential matters and information.
10. Experience of using HRIS.
11. Excellent time management and prioritisation skills.
12. Versatility and adaptability.
13. Excellent communication skills.
