Job description

We are recruiting for an experienced HR Advisor/Employee Relations Partner for an interim role, working for a prestigious Stevenage based organisation.


This is a temporary assignment to start immediately until the end of July 2025.


Working 37 hours a week - Monday to Friday - in a hybrid capacity - but you must be able to travel into the Stevenage office at least 2 to 3 days a week.


To join an established HR team - the main purpose of this role will be to manage ER casework - including sickness and disciplinaries, to give PIP support including grievances and appeals, to write and update company policies and to advise and support managers change programmes - including restructuring and design - redundancy and redeployment programmes and be able to project manage these when applicable.


Day to Day Responsibilities:

  1. Advise, support and coach managers to deal with a range of employee relations casework including disciplinary and grievance, absence management, harassment and bullying cases, Employment Tribunals and TUPE transfers.
  2. Supporting the HR Manager to undertake HR policy development.
  3. Advise and support managers during restructuring programmes, redundancy and redeployment programmes and project manage where applicable.
  4. Work with and support Assistant Directors and line Managers providing clear, consistent and expert HR advice.
  5. Advise and support employees with complex matters, interpretation of policies and terms and conditions of employment.
  6. Support HR colleagues on people management related matters, employment law and HR best practice.
  7. Ensure compliance to the company's code of practice in the delivery and provision of services to staff.
  8. Plus, other ad hoc relevant duties.

Person Specification:

  1. CIPD qualification or relevant experience at level 3 or equivalent experience.
  2. Be an HR professional with experience in employee relations and managing casework.
  3. Experience in providing advice and support to managers on issues such as disciplinaries, grievances, redundancy, TUPE and absence management.
  4. Knowledge and understanding of HR Law and HR practices and their day-to-day applications.
  5. Active problem solver and coming up with good and workable solutions.
  6. Proven experience in advising staff and managing informal relation issues.
