An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Housing Support Worker to join a National Charity based in Bristol. If you're passionate about helping vulnerable individuals and have experience in housing support, we would love to hear from you. THE ROLE

As a Housing Support Worker, you will play a crucial role in providing support to tenants living in supported housing. You will work to empower service users to achieve independence and ensure they have access to the support they need. Key responsibilities include:


  1. Engaging with referral agencies and the community to generate referrals for services and activities.
  2. Conducting initial assessments of service users’ needs and any associated risks.
  3. Designing and delivering individual support plans based on initial assessments.
  4. Maintaining regular contact with service users, fostering professional relationships and offering guidance.
  5. Conducting health and safety inspections of properties to ensure compliance with standards.
  6. Supporting tenants to maintain their homes, including repairs and property management tasks.
  7. Developing move-on plans to help service users transition to more permanent housing options.

THE CANDIDATE

To be considered for the Housing Support Worker role, candidates must have previous experience in housing support or a similar role. The ideal candidate will also have:


  1. Experience in developing person-centred support plans and assisting service users to achieve independence.
  2. Knowledge of anti-social behaviour management and experience in reporting incidents.
  3. Ability to carry out health and safety inspections and property management duties.
  4. Excellent communication skills to engage with service users, colleagues, and external agencies.
  5. Experience in collaborating with agencies such as the Probation Service to provide holistic support.

THE CONTRACT
  • 35 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 9 AM – 5 PM
  • 3-month contract, with the possibility of temp-to-perm
  • £16.09 per hour LTD / £13.72 per hour PAYE (inclusive of holiday pay)
