Housekeeping Night Supervisor

Bournemouth Hospital | Housekeeping | Permanent contract | Part time

£24,000 per annum (pro rata) + Unsocial hours allowance

30 hours per week

Keeping our Hospitals clean is a big priority for us. Our housekeeping department currently has an opportunity for a twilight/night Housekeeping Supervisor at our Bournemouth Hospital. Continue your journey with us whilst we’ll support you to be your best.

We are looking for a motivated, friendly, and flexible individual, preferably with previous supervisory cleaning experience, to join our Housekeeping Team. As an individual with experience in a similar role, you will be well organised, ensure cleaning products are used effectively, and that the location is clean, pleasant, and safe for customers. This is a working supervisor role; therefore, you will be expected to cover areas as required as well as supervising the night housekeeping team.

As a Housekeeping Night Supervisor, you will:

• Possess previous housekeeping supervisory experience
• Have a flexible approach to working hours
• Have an organised approach to tasks
• Have good communication skills
• Supervise the night housekeeping team
• Clean and prepare the areas for which you are responsible following the required policies and procedures
• Liaise with the housekeeping team leader and head of department
• Provide admin support within the department
• Complete housekeeping audit, feedback to team, and follow up on results
• Care about our patients, ensuring cleaning never gets in the way of a patient’s experience
• Be friendly, with good communication and customer service skills
• Be motivated, friendly, and flexible
• Ensure that cleaning products are used effectively, and that the location is clean, pleasant, and safe for patients
• Follow infection prevention and control compliance, reporting incidents to the relevant team members

To succeed as a Housekeeping Night Supervisor, you will:

• Manage and work alongside the housekeeping team delivering a consistently high standard cleaning service to the hospital
• Have proven, demonstrable experience of leading cleaning staff
• Prioritise workloads to ensure that standards are upheld and continuity of service is maintained at all times
• Produce and maintain weekly rotas
• Manage stock ordering and control for the department; carry out weekly audits and act on the results
• Support the Housekeeping Manager on a day-to-day basis to ensure the department is organized and meeting business requirements
• Be enthusiastic and self-motivated with an eye for detail ensuring our customer experience is of the highest quality
• Preferably have previous experience of working within a hospital environment, good IT skills, and customer care training experience
