Are you looking for a new challenge? We are seeking an enthusiastic and committed Housekeeper to join our team on the Delivery Unit. This is an exciting and key role in which you will work closely with the maternity and domestic staff to ensure a safe, clean and organised ward.
You will provide close support to the maternity team by maintaining high standards of infection control. Confident, competent, self-motivated and enthusiastic are all attributes required for these positions as well as the ability to work as part of the team. You must be able to communicate effectively with patients, clinicians and other healthcare professionals and demonstrate very high standards.
In return, we will provide you with a full induction and support you with a personal development plan and ongoing training when required. You will also benefit from being an employee for a large Trust and so be made aware of up and coming projects and opportunities that there may be.
You will take responsibility for ensuring that all medical equipment is clean and well maintained and liaise with the domestic supervisors and staff to ensure cleaning is of a high standard. You will play an essential role during work hours, ensuring the ward is patient friendly, water dispensers are clean and well stocked with cups, and waiting areas are well maintained for public use. You will take responsibility for ensuring the delivery unit has adequate equipment and stock. You will undertake reporting any estates work and requests for portering services.
In addition, you will be responsible for assisting the team in continuous quality improvement work by undertaking audits on the Department. The role also entails keeping ward information boards up to date, and friends & family feedback is maintained.
You might already have some experience in a similar role and good communication skills are a must. You must be able to empathise with and consider patients as you go about your duties; you will have an organised and positive approach to ensure the tasks at hand are carried out in a timely, effective manner. You need to be dynamic in your approach, willing to learn, and able to work well within the team or independently.
