House Manager/Property Manager Job

Greycoat Lumleys is seeking an experienced and dedicated House Manager/Property Manager to oversee the daily operations of a stunning 7-bedroom manor house for a lovely principal who enjoys art collection and frequently travels. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining the household and ensuring everything runs smoothly, especially during the principal's absences.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Oversee the day-to-day management of the manor house, ensuring it is well-maintained, secure, and welcoming at all times.
2. Work closely with the existing staff, including housekeepers, part-time cleaners, and gardeners, to coordinate tasks and schedules.
3. Act as the primary point of contact for contractors and service providers for ongoing maintenance and repairs, particularly in relation to older properties.
4. Manage and oversee household budgets and expenses, ensuring cost-effective solutions for maintenance and repairs.
5. Maintain the principal's art gallery, ensuring proper care, display, and security of the collection.
6. Implement and maintain cleaning, maintenance, and organization standards within the household.
7. Prepare the house for the principal's return after travel and ensure all systems are functioning properly.
8. Foster a trustworthy and reliable environment, especially during periods when the household is empty.

Requirements:

1. Proven experience in a managerial role within a private household or similar environment.
2. Strong understanding and hands-on experience with the maintenance of older properties.
3. Knowledge and appreciation of art would be ideal, with an understanding of how to care for and manage art collections.
4. Excellent organizational and communication skills.
5. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
6. Trustworthiness, integrity, and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
7. Self-employed candidates will also be considered.

Salary - Circa - £50,000 GPA
