Hostel Support Worker Needed in West London

Pay: £15.13 + holiday pay = £16.96 per hour or £19.00 via umbrella company

Description:
We are currently seeking dedicated and compassionate individuals to join our social care client's team as a Hostel Support Worker. This position involves providing vital support to individuals with complex needs, including substance misuse, mental health difficulties, and criminal justice issues. The service users, both men and women, often come with their faithful companions, and therefore the service accommodates a few dogs in the hostel.

Responsibilities:

  1. Key-working and case management for a caseload of 5 to 10 clients.
  2. Providing individualised support and guidance to residents, addressing their specific needs and challenges.
  3. Facilitating group activities and workshops within the communal spaces.
  4. Conducting regular check-ins and assessments to monitor progress and ensure the well-being of residents.
  5. Collaborating with external agencies and resources to offer comprehensive support services.
  6. Signposting clients to relevant programs and resources for their personal development and empowerment.

Requirements:

  1. Previous experience working with vulnerable populations, particularly those with complex needs.
  2. Strong understanding and sensitivity to issues related to substance misuse, mental health, and criminal justice.
  3. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  4. Ability to work effectively within a team and independently.
  5. Flexibility to work varying shifts, including evenings and weekends.
  6. A passion for supporting individuals on their journey towards independence and self-sufficiency.
