Hospitality Account Executive

Department: Commercial

Reports to: St Andrew’s Stadium at Knighthead Park

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

As a Hospitality Account Executive at Birmingham City FC, you will play a key role in driving sales for our matchday hospitality packages and managing key client accounts, delivering world-class service. You will generate leads, manage new business opportunities, and convert leads into sales through exceptional sales strategies and customer service. You will report to the Hospitality Sales Manager while also working closely with the wider Commercial Team.

Core Responsibilities

Lead Generation and Prospecting

  • Identify and generate leads via cold calling, networking, referrals, and industry events.
  • Research and identify potential clients, including corporate clients, sponsors, and event-hosting organisations.
  • Build a pipeline of prospects and prioritize opportunities based on sales potential and strategic fit.

Client Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with clients, offering personalized service throughout the sales process.
  • Conduct client meetings, presentations, and site tours to showcase hospitality offerings and address inquiries.
  • Serve as the main point of contact for clients, ensuring exceptional customer service and satisfaction.

Proposal Development and Sales Negotiation

  • Prepare customized proposals and presentations tailored to the needs and preferences of prospective clients.
  • Negotiate terms, pricing, and packages to maximize revenue while aligning with client expectations.

Sales Reporting and Analysis

  • Maintain accurate records of sales activities using CRM software.
  • Ensure compliance with all policies and procedures, including Equality & Diversity, Safeguarding, and Health & Safety.
  • Perform other duties as required by your Line Manager or Head of Department.

What we're looking for in you

Essential

  • Proven experience in commercial or hospitality sales, particularly within sports, events, or the hospitality industry.
  • Experience in hospitality operations or sales in a Football Club or similar sports venue.

Desirable

  • Strong organisational skills, able to manage multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Experience in event coordination, especially in a large venue or stadium setting.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact with clients, senior management, and teams.
  • Proficiency in CRM software, event management systems, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving ability.

Personal Requirements

  • Hands-on approach and a strong work ethic, with experience in target-driven sales environments.
  • High energy and ability to stay focused on sales goals while working independently.
  • Enthusiastic, self-motivated, flexible, and proactive approach.
  • Ability to multi-task and adhere to confidentiality/data protection procedures.

Terms of Appointment

  • 37.5 hours per week.
  • 23 days of annual leave, rising by 1 day per completed year up to 25 days, plus 8 bank holidays.
  • Up to 6 months' probation.
  • Flexibility with working hours to meet the demands of the role.
