Belmont Recruitment are seeking a Homelessness Prevention Officer to join Liverpool City Council on an initial 3-6 month temporary contract. This role is to provide proactive, client-focused support to individuals and families at risk of homelessness.
- Conduct detailed homelessness assessments and develop personalised housing plans.
- Apply the Housing Act 1996 and Homelessness Reduction Act 2017 to determine homelessness status and provide statutory support.
- Work with landlords, internal teams, and external agencies to secure sustainable housing solutions.
- Ensure legal compliance through accurate case management, decision-making, and safeguarding vulnerable clients.
- Participate in outreach, emergency response, and flexible working arrangements to support service users effectively.
- Experience in homelessness prevention, housing law, or social work.
- Strong knowledge of housing legislation, case law, and local authority duties.
- Excellent negotiation, communication, and case management skills.
- Ability to work under pressure, manage a complex caseload, and deliver high-quality customer service.
