An established industry player is seeking a dedicated Homeless Support Officer to join their Temporary Accommodation team. We’re looking for a Homeless Support Officer to join our Temporary Accommodation team, to support in the day to day running of the temporary accommodation schemes, maintaining a good standard of temporary accommodation, provided for homeless families, single men and single women, sited at 3 separate locations.
This is a varied role, working on a shift basis and your time can be spent offering practical support and advice to promote customer independence and development. You will support customers in life skills training sessions in both formal and informal settings.
In this rewarding role, you will have the opportunity to work alongside and support a diverse range of customers, assisting them into long term independent accommodation, inspiring people to make positive changes, realise their full potential and lead a fulfilled life.
Candidates for this role will have good communication skills and a working knowledge of IT and Microsoft Office applications. You will have confidence in challenging behaviour/resistance in others and have previous experience and knowledge of providing a support/befriending service and a basic understanding of the benefits system.
You will undertake ‘on the job training’ to understand the business and carry out key tasks which includes domestic duties, cleaning and preparing properties to be let after they have been vacated; and storing belongings in line with legal responsibilities.
You will be required to work on a shift basis for this role.
