Job Description

Are you ready to fall into a heart-warming career this spring? Join our compassionate team of Home Care Assistants who bring warmth and comfort to the lives of those who need it most. If you have a heart full of kindness and a desire to make a difference, this is the perfect job opportunity for you!

What would your role as a Care Professional be?

We are looking for a dynamic go-getter to work with our lovely clients in their own home. We hire an attitude, so no experience is needed. If you are compassionate, empathetic, and pass the loved one test, you could be the perfect candidate for us at Home Instead.

  • At Home Instead, every day will be different. If you are a good listener and a chatterbox, we are looking for you. This is to provide company and a good laugh for the clients that you support.
  • Assisting clients to have a lovely start to the day, whether this would be supporting with a shower or picking out their favourite clothing or supporting with toilet breaks, you’re getting the day off to a good start!
  • If you can boil an egg, you are on the right path to be able to support clients with their meals and snacks.
  • You will take part in light cleaning duties to support clients to stay independent in their home for as long as possible.
  • Medication support may be part of supporting the client—Don’t worry if you haven’t done this before; we provide all training and support for this.
  • You will be a companion for the client, so taking the client to appointments or out for coffee or to activities will also be part of the role. Keeping the client as part of the community will encourage more independence and, as for being a Care Assistant—It takes a village!

Our offer to you:

  • Set fixed rotas to enable you to have a good work-life balance. Full-time and part-time roles are available.
  • Competitive rates of pay which increase to £13.45 weekdays and £13.80 weekends from the 1st of April. Enhanced rates of pay on Bank Holidays.
  • Paid training and ongoing learning and development available.
  • Recognition and rewards for the hard work that you do for our clients.
  • Free Employee Assistance Programme.
  • Paid DBS Scheme.
  • Data allowance for use of our Apps.
  • Paid shadowing and continuous introductions to any new clients so you are an instant familiar face.
  • We enjoy regular staff events to be able to get to know each other better and have a good old chin wag!
  • Our one-hour minimum calls allow you to properly get to know our clients, with no rushing around to get tasks done; this encourages great relationships.
  • We have a non-uniform policy to offer a more personal touch when supporting clients in the community.
Qualifications

Have you worked in care before? Great, we love looking at how we can build on people’s experience, but if you need some training, we are always looking for new people to get into a career in care.

We are there every step of the way, offering support on the phone or in person; no question is ever too big for us at Home Instead.
