LOCATION:

Product Engineering at JLR is centred on innovation and creativity. From advanced driver assistance systems to developing the future of electric propulsion, the opportunities to create exceptional experiences for the future of motoring are wide-ranging. You'll work alongside industry experts to drive product strategy, manage programs, analyse performance, and lead transformation initiatives. Exceptional careers that bring world-renowned vehicles to life start here.

The Body Systems, Software and HMI Domain is responsible for a multitude of customer facing technologies. Within this Domain the HMI Systems team has been expanding its role and remit as part of a new electrical architecture platform for subsequent deployments for Jaguar and Land Rover car lines.

A new Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) cockpit controller module is undergoing development which underpins the future strategy. This has led to an expansion and a need to bolster the existing Systems engineering and architecture capability in order to specify and support the end-to-end in-house software development for HMI features and products.

The successful candidate will join the HMI Systems team (part of Product Engineering) on that journey through the roll out of advanced functionalities.

WHAT TO EXPECT

The HMI Systems Product Owner (PO) will lead a multi-disciplinary systems engineering team which are responsible for the structural and behavioural definition of HMI functionality for current and future vehicle architectures.

The successful candidate will:

  • Own, prioritize and manage the Product Backlog at Story level, ensuring it is transparent, visible, and understood.
  • Create and own a product roadmap based on the needs of the stakeholders as well as define backlog Stories as required outcomes to the squad, empowering them to derive the solutions.
  • Evaluate and provide clarity on the impact, business criticality and associated timescales of risks and issues across the squads and identify and communicate risks, issues, and opportunities within the wider business.
  • Identifying, understanding, and influencing key Stakeholders, balancing their needs with those of the customer.
  • Work with Chapter Leads on resource planning so that the squad has the skills and expertise required to deliver a successful product.
WHAT YOU’LL NEED
  • A strong background in Systems Engineering: experience of system definition, system architecture development, requirements specification, design/performance modelling, systems integration, system assessment and acceptance.
  • High proficiency in model-based systems engineering tools and techniques, including SysML/UML (ideally Catia Magic System of Systems Architect, or Enterprise Architect/Rhapsody/Simulink).
  • Relevant experience of Agile Framework and Scrum Tools - JIRA
  • Broad understanding of product development, product backlog and project management.
  • Experience in working with tools such as Rhapsody, Stateflow, and Simulink.
