Primary School HLTAs needed across Hillingdon, Harrow & Brent
Short term and long term bookings
Part time / full time cover
£120 - £150 per day

About the HLTA role:

Magisters Education has a number of long-term and temporary bookings for HLTAs in West London. As a Higher Level Teaching Assistant, you will support primary children with their learning and general well-being to ensure every child has the best opportunity to reach their full potential in a caring and safe environment. Where necessary this may include positive behaviour management adopting a tailored approach to the individual child.

Your areas of responsibility will include:

1. Complementing the professional work of teachers by taking responsibility for agreed activities under an agreed system of supervision. This may involve planning, preparing and delivering learning activities for individuals/groups or short-term for whole classes and monitoring children and assessing, recording and reporting on their achievement, progress and development.
2. The management and development of teaching within the academy and/or management of other teaching assistants including allocation and monitoring of work, appraisal and training.
3. Under an agreed system of supervision, taking a lead role within the academy to address the needs of children who need particular help to overcome barriers to learning.
4. Encouraging children to become independent learners, providing support for their welfare, and supporting the inclusion of children in all aspects of academy life.

About You:

1. Experience as a primary school HLTA
2. Experience covering full classes in the absence of a teacher
3. Degree qualified desirable
4. DBS on the Update Service
