Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) – Barnsley & Sheffield

Location: Barnsley & Sheffield
Salary: £90 - £105 per day (Depending on experience)
Contract Type: Full-time, Part-time & Permanent roles available
Start Date: Immediate & September 2025 starts

About the Role

We are looking for experienced and passionate Higher Level Teaching Assistants (HLTA) to work across schools in Barnsley and Sheffield. The role involves leading whole-class learning, supporting teachers, and working with small groups or individual students.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Delivering planned lessons and leading whole-class sessions
  2. Providing targeted support for students, including those with SEN
  3. Assisting in lesson planning and classroom management
  4. Working closely with teachers to track student progress
  5. Covering classes in the absence of the teacher

Requirements:

  1. HLTA qualification (or relevant experience)
  2. Previous experience working in a school setting
  3. Strong classroom management and communication skills
  4. Ability to adapt to different year groups and subjects
  5. Enhanced DBS check (or willingness to obtain one)
