We are currently seeking a Cover Supervisor to join our dedicated team, providing crucial support in the absence of teaching staff. This is a fantastic opportunity to contribute to our positive learning environment and help students succeed.

Job Description:

As a Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for overseeing and supporting students in classrooms when teachers are absent. Your role will involve ensuring that students remain on task and engage in the planned learning activities while maintaining high standards of behavior and discipline.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Supervise and support students during lessons and ensure they follow the work set by the class teacher.
  2. Manage classroom behavior and maintain a positive learning environment.
  3. Support students with their learning needs and offer guidance where necessary.
  4. Ensure the health, safety, and well-being of students during lessons and throughout the school day.
  5. Provide feedback on students' engagement and behavior to relevant teaching staff.
  6. Assist with administrative tasks, such as setting up classrooms or distributing materials.
  7. Promote positive relationships and encourage student participation in lessons.

Skills and Experience:

  1. Experience working with young people, ideally in an educational setting.
  2. Strong communication and interpersonal skills to interact effectively with students, staff, and parents.
  3. Confidence in managing student behavior and maintaining a productive classroom environment.
  4. Ability to adapt quickly and work flexibly to meet the needs of students and the school.
  5. A calm and professional demeanor, with the ability to stay focused under pressure.
  6. Knowledge of safeguarding procedures and commitment to child protection.
