History Graduate Cover Supervisor - Full-Time Role
Location: Levenshulme
Contract: Full-time, starting after Easter until the end of the academic year
Pay: £419.25 - £500 per week

Teaching Personnel is seeking a motivated and enthusiastic History Graduate to join a Good Ofsted-rated secondary school in Levenshulme as a Cover Supervisor. This role is ideal for individuals looking to gain hands-on classroom experience before pursuing a career in teaching or education.

As a History Graduate Cover Supervisor, you will be responsible for supervising classes in the absence of the regular teacher, ensuring that students remain engaged and on task with pre-planned lesson materials. You will play a key role in supporting students' learning while maintaining a positive and productive classroom environment.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Supervising and delivering pre-set lessons across different year groups in the History department.
  • Managing classroom behaviour and ensuring that students follow school policies.
  • Providing support to students who may need extra guidance with their work.
  • Answering any questions students may have about the tasks set in the lesson.
  • Covering lessons in other subject areas when required.
  • Liaising with teaching staff and reporting on student engagement and behaviour.
  • Assisting in extracurricular activities, revision sessions, or intervention groups as needed.
  • Maintaining a safe and inclusive learning environment by following safeguarding procedures.

We are looking for a History Graduate who:

  • Holds a degree in History or a related subject.
  • Has a passion for education and is considering a career in teaching.
  • Is confident in leading a classroom and managing student behaviour.
  • Has excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Can build strong relationships with students and motivate them to engage with their learning.
  • Has experience working with young people in an educational, mentoring, or tutoring capacity (preferred but not essential).
  • Is adaptable, organised, and able to work effectively in a school setting.
  • Has a good understanding of safeguarding and child protection (training will be provided).
