Location: Brixworth, Northamptonshire (5 days office based)

Contract: Permanent, Full-time

Salary: £50,000 + car + benefits + 7.5% pension

About the Role:

Our client is seeking a Quantity Surveyor to join their Transportation team in Brixworth. This role aims to strengthen the current commercial team, working across two term service contracts for West & North Northamptonshire, delivering highways maintenance and capital schemes valued at approximately £60m per annum.

Responsibilities:

As a Quantity Surveyor, the successful candidate will manage all financial aspects of provider and managed works contracts. Responsibilities include:

1. Value engineering and estimating target prices
2. Negotiating prices with subcontractors and clients
3. Identifying and agreeing on the value of additional works
4. Managing interim valuations and final accounts
5. Producing and managing contractual documentation

Day-to-day activities:

1. Supporting and leading the ongoing management of subcontractor accounts in partnership with the client
2. Working closely with operational teams to ensure accurate and sufficient detail in all task orders to subcontractors
3. Aiding in the commercial management of additional scheme works from the construction phase through to application, invoice, and payment
4. Reconciling subcontractor accounts

Requirements:

This role is ideal for candidates who:

1. Have relevant qualifications and/or experience in a similar role in highways
2. Can manage multiple fast-paced workflows concurrently, with experience in the NEC suite of contracts, especially Option C
3. Are familiar with subcontractor account management
