Your New Role

We have new opportunities for Highways Maintenance Operative to join our NMC SW Account working in our Woodside Viaduct project in Glasgow. These roles will be offered a Fixed Term Contract, the contract will be a minimum basis for 6 months, which may be extended due to business requirements.

Our NMC SW is working in partnership with Transport Scotland Southwest since August 2020, we are responsible for inspections, cyclical maintenance, asset management, scheme delivery as well as winter maintenance and incident response.

The team are first on the scene to assist road users on the road network, deliver engineering design and operational delivery services for more than 600 kilometres of road and 1,650 structures enabling reliable journey times and a high level of customer care for the people and businesses that use these roads every day.

By ensuring our roads and highways are well-maintained through all-weather seasons and traffic incidents, we aim to create well-functioning, safe spaces which minimise disruption, keep people moving and support thriving communities.

The Highways Maintenance Operative will be responsible for:
  • Undertaking all aspects of highway maintenance works including routine and cyclic maintenance activities, minor civils' works and litter picking.
  • Driving/operating vehicles/plant ensuring vehicle checks, routing maintenance and cleaning is carried out.
  • Ensuring the safety of yourself and the team is paramount.
  • Keeping records, including drivers' hours and any paperwork necessary.
It is essential you have a Driving Licence for this position.
