Job Summary
We are looking for a full-time (1.0 WTE) Band 7 Highly Specialist Paediatric Allergy Dietitian to provide maternity cover. You should be an enthusiastic individual with excellent communication skills and keen interest and experience of working within the field of allergy.
The successful candidate will be working with the wider allergy multidisciplinary team (MDT), including 3 Consultants and 1 Allergy Specialist Nurse, to lead on the dietetic care of infants and children with multiple complex food allergies. You will be required to provide specialist allergy advice and support within both consultant and dietetic-led allergy clinics, hospital-based food challenges and MDT meetings.
You will be responsible for supervision, training and support of the general dietitians in the management of non-complex allergy patients.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will be responsible for a busy complex allergy patient caseload. You will be required to work across both inpatient and outpatient settings, to provide specialist care to infants and children in collaboration with their families/carers and the wider MDT. As a visible leader, you will be a role model for the Dietetic team ensuring high standards of quality care for patients and their families. You will be solely based on the Queen's Medical Centre (QMC), Nottingham.
This post is ideal for a dietitian wishing to develop their clinical, leadership and service development skills within Paediatric Allergy. You will take part in education events, student and staff training and lead allergy dietetic service developments, in collaboration with other members of the MDT.
