Highly Specialist Dietitian Team Leader - Learning Disabilities and Mental Health (LD/MH)
Band 6 to 7 progression post
Permanent
Bradford Nutrition and Dietetic Service
We are excited to offer an opportunity for an experienced and forward-thinking dietitian, looking to develop their leadership and management skills, to join our learning disability and mental health team.
You will join a growing team of dietitians/specialist dietitians and dietetic assistant practitioners providing specialist community learning disability (including enteral feeding) and in-patient/out-reach mental health services within our partner organisation Bradford District Care NHS Foundation Trust (BDCFT).
You will have a drive to develop yourself and others to improve patient care and deliver the values of Bradford Nutrition and Dietetic Services - Leading Nutrition, Valuing People and Showing Our Worth.
Closely supported by the clinical lead dietitian for LD/MH you will follow our departmental professional development framework to develop the skills and competencies necessary to become a highly specialist dietitian team leader. You will hold a specialist mental health in-patient caseload and recent relevant experience in mental health is therefore desirable.
You will have a key role within the Trust Nutrition Improvement Working Group leading the development of nutrition policies, menu planning and clinical audit to deliver the Trust Nutrition Strategy.
Working closely with multi-disciplinary teams in the specialist service areas you will have the opportunity to gain experience in line management, leadership, service improvement and further develop your clinical skills in learning disabilities and mental health.
We are an agile and digitally enabled team working across community and in-patient sites with an element of home working also supported.
At Bradford Teaching Hospitals we're passionate about providing outstanding care for the people of the Bradford district and communities across the North of England. We're keen to meet people interested in sharing our passion and helping us continue to deliver the highest quality of care to our patients.
This post embodies the Bradford District and Craven 'Act as One' principle of how we work together across health and care organisations and is a well-established and growing partnership between the Nutrition and Dietetic Service of BTHFT and BDCFT.
You will be supported by the clinical lead dietitian for LD/MH and the Principal Dietitian for Outreach Services and your personal development will be fully supported.
This post is offered at full-time with part-time applications also considered - please indicate your preferred working hours in the supporting information of your application.
You will fully participate in the training and co-ordination of B and C Placement student dietitians including undertaking the role of assessor.
Applicants must be HCPC registered dietitians, who have obtained relevant clinical dietetic experience and hold a UK driving licence with access to a car to meet the requirement for regular travel to organisational sites across Bradford and Airedale (reasonable adjustments will be considered).
This post is subject to the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions Order) 1975 and as such it will be necessary for a submission for Disclosure to be made to the Disclosure and Barring Service (formerly known as CRB) to check for any previous criminal convictions.
