Are you looking for a new challenge and an exciting opportunity to develop your clinical, educational and leadership skills? Come and join us in our busy central London NHS occupational health, safety and wellbeing service where we are looking for Practitioner Psychologists to join our team delivering the Staff Psychological Wellbeing programme. This post forms part of our sub-team to support the Cancer & Surgery clinical group.
We are proud of our substantial and internationally recognised health and wellbeing programme which includes a strong staff psychological wellbeing component involving proactive, preventative approaches as well as reactive approaches including psychological debriefs and psychological therapies. The Practitioner Psychologists will be pivotal in delivering the staff psychological wellbeing component as well as assisting the service leads with the strategic development of the programme. Our programme has a strong focus on delivering evidence-based initiatives, evaluation, and ensuring engagement with employees and stakeholders.
Interviews will be held on 6th February 2025.
This is a varied and interesting role and we are looking for proactive and creative individuals who will be able to work in a team but also autonomously. The job requires excellent organisational skills. You will be able to effectively balance the clinical and non-clinical priorities of the role. You will have extensive clinical expertise to deliver both individual and group based interventions including proactive psychoeducation.
If you enjoy a challenge and working as part of a team, then this post could be the one for you.
The Staff Wellbeing Psychology Service provides a psychological therapies service for staff referred via Occupational Health as well as a range of staff support activities across Trust sites. These include preventative initiatives. There is now clear evidence to suggest that improving the psychological wellbeing of staff leads to better health and wellbeing and has a positive impact on staff engagement and patient care. The work of the psychology service can be categorised into 1) proactive initiatives (including understanding causes of staff stress and psychological distress on an organisational level, and delivering psychoeducation and reflective practice) and 2) reactive initiatives (including psychological therapies and psychological debriefs).
This programme became all the more important through the COVID-19 pandemic and the service grew rapidly in response and this growth has been sustained.
Further information on the role and its requirements can be found in the attached job description and person specification documentation.
