Job description

Gretton School is an independent specialist school for children and young people with Autistic Spectrum Conditions, specifically high functioning autism. We welcome students from 5—19 years old, as weekly boarders or as day students. Based just outside Cambridge, we work with 12 counties to provide a broad and individualised education for these unique and wonderful students. The school is growing and developing, its integrated therapeutic team are working tirelessly alongside the management team and the teaching and support staff to further develop our fantastic practice and outcomes. We are looking for exceptional people to work with our exceptional students. We are recruiting a Higher Level Teaching Assistant to start July 2025. The successful candidate will have the ability to support teaching across the secondary age range and to work with the class teacher to complete annual review paperwork and reports.

What you'll need to succeed:
  • HLTA Qualification (or willingness to complete)
  • GCSE grade C (or equivalent) in both Maths and English
  • Knowledge, understanding and experience of Autism as well as a broad knowledge of strategies used for teaching students with ASC
  • Ability to remain calm under pressure and be able to adapt to change quickly
