HGV Workshop Supervisor

Location: Coatbridge
Salary: Up to £41,000
Hours: Monday to Friday, with overtime opportunities available

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Trailer Workshop Supervisor to join a leading national commercial vehicle services company. This role offers a competitive salary, excellent benefits, and the opportunity to oversee a busy, high-performing workshop.

As a Workshop Supervisor, you will manage day-to-day trailer servicing, repairs, and inspections, ensuring jobs are completed efficiently and to the highest standards. You will oversee workload planning, support your team's development, and ensure customer vehicles are back on the road as quickly as possible.

Key Responsibilities of the HGV Workshop Supervisor position:

1. Oversee trailer repairs, servicing, and inspections in the workshop, on-site, or roadside.
2. Prioritise and plan workloads to meet customer demands efficiently.
3. Ensure health & safety standards are met, keeping the workshop safe and organised.
4. Maintain accurate records of work completed and process paperwork on time.
5. Identify cost-effective repair methods and warranty claim opportunities.
6. Assist with workshop operations, including managing stock levels, holiday cover, and overtime.
7. Support and train technicians, sharing knowledge and skills to develop the team.
8. Deliver high-quality customer service, representing company values and identifying business opportunities.

Requirements of the HGV Workshop Supervisor role:

1. Qualified and experienced trailer technician (City & Guilds Level 1, 2, 3, or equivalent).
2. Strong organisational skills with the ability to prioritise workloads.
3. Good communication skills and a professional, can-do attitude.
4. Basic computer skills (training provided).
5. Supervisory experience is a plus but not essential - leading by example is key.
