Job description

HGV TECHNICIAN

Poole, Dorset

Salary: £40k to £45k

Ideally working 1pm - 10:30pm based on working 45 hours per week, Monday to Friday. Flexibility is available for start and finish times to fit with family and work-life balance. Overtime is available but not guaranteed.

We have a fantastic opportunity for an HGV Technician at our Poole location. The role is to carry out all aspects of service, repair, and maintenance work on all commercial vehicles that are booked into the workshop.

You will liaise with the Foreman, Workshop Controller, and Service Team to ensure the best customer service for our clients. We are looking for a candidate with enthusiasm and a dynamic personality who will share our energy and passion and contribute to our ongoing success. The Technician will be responsible for carrying out vehicle repairs in accordance with manufacturer's procedures within standard times set.

Duties will include:

  1. Vehicle inspection
  2. General servicing
  3. Fault diagnosis
  4. Repair of vehicle defects
  5. Road test vehicles
  6. MOT preparation/presentation
  7. Breakdown/roadside assistance and call-out duty
  8. Completion of all required paperwork accurately

The successful candidate will:
  1. Be a qualified HGV Technician (City & Guilds / NVQ Level Three or equivalent)
  2. Have previous relevant experience gained in a similar industry
  3. Full UK Driving Licence
  4. HGV Licence preferable but not essential
  5. Have a good attitude to work at all times
  6. Previous experience working with the Commercial Vehicle sector
