  • Experience in routine maintenance and electrical inspections is essential.

Responsibilities

Job description

Are you a fully qualified HGV Fitter/Mechanic/Technician living in the Merthyr Tydfil area looking for a workshop-based role?
Are you looking for a Monday to Friday, day shift role?
Do you want a non-pressurised workshop rather than the time constraints of a main dealer?
If so, my client could well be the employer for you.


The role of the HGV Technician:

You will be working on a variety of tractor and trailer units of differing makes and models, including gritters, RCV's Refuge vehicles, Diesel and EV vehicles.


Responsibilities:
  1. Routine (and preventative) maintenance
  2. MOT preparation
  3. Scheduled servicing to DVSA standards
  4. 6 (or 8) weekly inspections
  5. Correction of running defects
  6. Chassis and fabrication work
  7. Hydraulics and pneumatics
  8. Electrical and wiring inspections and corrections

Requirements for this HGV Technician position:
  1. Ideally you will be fully qualified (City & Guilds), NVQ or equivalent.
  2. Additional accreditations such as IRTEC or an EV qualification would be desirable but not essential.

Day shift: Monday to Friday
8am - 5pm
45 hours per week, plus overtime
up to £42,000 p/a
