A number of opportunities has become available for one of the UK’s most highly renowned food manufacturing companies, that can offer great training & development opportunities. They are looking for a HGV Technician to join their close-knit fleet maintenance team.
Role & Responsibilities:
Carry out servicing and maintenance of all the HGV, LGV fleet vehicles, trailers, tractor engines and associated equipment
Maintenance work on a mixed fleet of DAF & IVECO trucks
Working on engine mechanics, vehicle electrics & diagnostics, hydraulics, gearboxes
Assist the VMU controller and manager to liaise with transport and logistics departments, keeping them informed of vehicle availability
Ensure that vehicles are inspected and meet DVSA MOT requirements, with all paperwork
Work on own initiative and as part of a team
Ensure that all maintenance admin and paperwork meet company & legislative standards
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Must have previously worked as a HGV technician
Experience of working on HGV trucks, tractor engines & trailers
Previously have worked in a busy fleet maintenance operation
Must have strong knowledge of servicing & maintenance to DVSA standards
Ideally have IMI qualifications or C&G / NVQ Level 3 Vehicle Maintenance
Beneficial to hold a HGV/LGV Class 1 or 2 (C+E) Driving Licence
Must possess excellent communication skills
Able to work on own initiative and be a team player
Good knowledge of electrical, fault finding and diagnostics
