HGV Technician
Rate: £18.45 - £22.80 per hour
Location: Peterborough
Hours: Monday to Friday 0730 – 1730, Saturdays as part of a rota system 0730 – 1230. On call as part of a rota system.

About your new company
My client is a fleet maintenance company with a few depots across the UK. Due to their continued success, they are now looking for skilled HGV Technicians to join their ever-growing team.

Duties include the following (this list is not exhaustive):

1. Perform minor and major repairs on vehicles and trailers
2. Conduct regular preventative maintenance on service trailers, including inspection, tyre rotation, and oil changes
3. Prepare vehicles and trailers for MOT
4. Carry out brake tests on trailers
5. Maintain cleanliness in the shop
6. Collaborate with the repair team to diagnose problems with vehicles and plan repairs
7. Perform regular diagnostic tests on trucks
8. Maintain accurate records of each repair performed on vehicles
9. Undertake any other duties reasonably expected of this position.

Qualifications and Skills required:

1. Level 2 or above technical qualification, and experience maintaining HGV vehicles and trailers.
2. Ability to work within guidelines given and to strict deadlines.
3. Ability to work under pressure.
4. Ability to work as part of a team.
5. Awareness and understanding of health and safety requirements.
6. Good verbal communication skills.
7. Flexible attitude and a willingness to learn new skills to effectively undertake the role.
8. HGV licence is an advantage but not essential.
