HGV Technician - Selby

Basic Salary: Up to £20ph (£45,000 OTE)

Hours: 40h week

About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced and highly skilled HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic to join our growing team in Liverpool. As a key member of our workshop, you will be responsible for the maintenance, repair, and servicing of heavy goods vehicles (HGVs) to ensure they operate safely and efficiently. This is a fantastic opportunity for a dedicated HGV Technician to join a reputable company offering competitive pay and ongoing development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities of the HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic:

  1. Carry out routine maintenance, repairs, and inspections of HGVs.
  2. Ensure all work is completed to the highest standard and in line with industry regulations.
  3. Perform brake, suspension, and axle repairs, as well as welding and structural repairs.
  4. Maintain accurate service records and compliance documentation.
  5. Adhere to health and safety standards while working in a busy workshop environment.
  6. Work effectively with other technicians and contribute to team success.

Essential Skills & Qualifications HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic:

  1. Proven experience as an HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic, ideally with experience working on heavy vehicles.
  2. Ability to work independently and to deadlines in a fast-paced workshop.
  3. Full UK driving license (HGV Class 1 preferred but not essential).

Desirable Skills & Qualifications for HGV Technician / HGV Mechanic:

  1. IRTEC accreditation.
  2. Industry-recognized qualifications (NVQ Level 3 or City & Guilds).
  3. Tail lift, lifting deck, or double-deck trailer maintenance expertise.
