Job description

HGV Technician + 20.35 - 21.31/ hour + 4on4off + Overtime paid at 1.5 hourly rate + Company Life Insurance + World class training to support career progression.

2 HGV Technician roles available, 1 in Trafford Park and 1 in Middleton

Hours of work are 6am-6pm or 7am-7pm (4on4off shift)

Our client, a leading dealership since 1986 are looking for a skilled HGV Technician to join their dynamic team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in heavy vehicle maintenance and repair, demonstrating proficiency in both equipment repair and assembly. This role requires a hands-on approach to ensure that all vehicles are maintained to the highest standards, ensuring safety and reliability for our customers.

Duties of the HGV Technician:

• Carry out routine maintenance and repairs on all makes of vehicles and trailers to VOSA standard.
• Diagnose and rectify all types of faults
• Attend disabled vehicles at the roadside or at customer's premises
• Ensure all vehicles worked upon are handled carefully and that all precautions are taken whilst on the premises
• Liaise with parts department to attain parts
• Ensure Health & Safety regulations and safe working practices are adhered to
• Ensure appropriate clocking is made, all job cards and service sheets are completed in a timely manner
• Maintain a high standard of cleanliness and tidiness
• Maintain a thorough and current product knowledge and attend training courses.

Requirements of the HGV Technician:

• Proven experience in equipment repair, particularly with heavy goods vehicles.
• Excellent customer service skills, customer contact and interaction
• HGV and PSV licence (desirable but not essential)
• Technical qualification (City & Guilds or NVQ qualified technician) or prove experience repairing& maintaining vehicles
• Experience in a commercial workshop
• A proactive attitude towards learning new techniques and improving skills within the role.
