Job Title: HGV Driver / Maintenance Technician

Location: Heathrow Airport

Salary: £39,000 per annum

Shift Pattern: 4 on 4 off (Days)

Role Overview

As an HGV Driver / Maintenance Technician, you will be a key part of the Ground Service Equipment (GSE) division, supporting the engineering team in transporting equipment, maintaining workshop organization, and assisting with minor repairs. This role offers a varied and hands-on work environment within a dynamic airport setting.

Key Responsibilities

1. Transport ground service equipment and parts within Heathrow Airport, including deliveries and collections to/from other locations.
2. Maintain a clean and safe workshop environment using an electric floor cleaner.
3. Assist engineers with painting, washing, and general maintenance of equipment.
4. Perform oil, water, and battery top-ups as required.
5. Manage the parking and rotation of ground service equipment in the yard.
6. Carry out minor repairs and maintenance on trailers/bag carts.
7. Support engineers with basic repair tasks.
8. Undertake additional duties as requested by the management team.

Requirements

Essential:

1. Category C (HGV) driving license
2. Clean Category B (car) driving license
3. Significant experience in recovery work
4. Ability to obtain a Heathrow airside pass (including DBS/CRC certification)
5. Ability to pass and hold a valid forklift license
6. Excellent written and spoken English
7. Strong organisational and interpersonal skills
8. High level of integrity, reliability, and attention to detail

Desirable:

1. Previous experience working in an airport or GSE environment
2. Basic mechanical/engineering knowledge
