HGV class 2 Refuse driver

Are you an experienced Class 2 Driver with a passion for efficient waste management? We have an exciting opportunity for you to join our team as a Class 2 Driver for Bin Collection at South Cambridge Council.

SCCD are a leading waste management company dedicated to promoting sustainability and maintaining a clean environment. We take pride in providing reliable and efficient bin collection services to residential and commercial areas.

South Cambs operate a 4 day week - Tuesday - Friday.

Working hours: 06:00 am - 15:45 pm.

£15 ph PAYE - overtime paid at time and a half.

Potential Temp to Perm placement.

As a Class 2 Driver for Bin Collection, you will be responsible for:

1. Operating a Class 2 vehicle to collect waste bins from designated routes efficiently.
2. Ensuring adherence to the collection schedule and maintaining timely pickups.
3. Conducting pre- and post-trip inspections to ensure the vehicle's safety and report any issues promptly.
4. Safely manoeuvring the vehicle through various traffic and environmental conditions.
5. Assisting with the loading and unloading of bins, using appropriate lifting and handling techniques.
6. Maintaining accurate records of the collected waste.
7. Providing friendly and professional customer service, addressing inquiries and concerns when necessary.
8. Following waste management regulations and guidelines to ensure proper disposal procedures.

To be considered for the Class 2 Driver - Bin Collection position, you should meet the following qualifications:

1. Possess a valid Class 2 driving license with a clean record.
2. Valid CPC certificate.
3. Demonstrated experience as a Class 2 Driver, preferably within domestic areas.
4. Strong knowledge of road safety regulations.
5. Excellent time management and organizational skills.
6. Physical fitness to handle manual lifting and manoeuvring of bins.
7. Effective communication skills and a customer-oriented approach.
