Helpline Advisor

Salary: £30,796 - £38,495 Per Annum

Location: Home-based UK

Job Type: Fixed-Term

Job Time: Full-Time

Hours Per Week: 35

The role

Are you passionate about empowering families and young people? Do you thrive in a role where you can provide vital support and guidance? Our client is looking for a compassionate and skilled individual to join them and deliver their essential Helpline service for a 9-month fixed term.

What you'll do

  1. Be a First Point of Contact: Provide empathetic and child-centred information, guidance, signposting, and referrals to families, carers, young people, and professionals.
  2. Champion Our Client’s Mission: Represent the charity and collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to ensure they're effectively meeting the needs of those they serve.
  3. Empower Through Information: Deliver accessible, rights-based information and advice, making a tangible difference in people's lives.
  4. Contribute to Service Development: Play a key role in evolving Helpline delivery, with opportunities to learn and develop new digital skills.

What you'll need

  1. To be a brilliant communicator and active listener, with a genuine passion for helping others.
  2. A strong understanding of disability-related issues, including disability benefits and Special Educational Needs (SEN).
  3. To be a confident user of digital technology, with a willingness to embrace new tools and platforms.
  4. Ideally, experience providing remote information and advice via phone, email, or BSL (British Sign Language).
  5. A sound understanding of agile values & principles.
  6. A criminal record check / DBS disclosure (if offered the position).
