Duties and Responsibilities
Service and Inspect vehicles competently and report vehicles condition, safety and reliability and performance (MOT).
Diagnose, observe, recognize and report on vehicle or component defects or symptoms of impending failure.
Ensure all service and maintenance sheets, customer defect reports, manufacturer paperwork and electronic documentation are fully completed and signed off.
Interpret and implement technical service instructions data, to ensure a repair or replacement component is replaced or repaired in line with manufacturers' instructions.
Occasionally carry out roadside repairs and recover defective or damaged vehicles within the terms of the law. Fully comply with Manufacturer's protocol and policies and safe working at roadside.
Draw the Workshop Manager's attention to any faults that could make the vehicle dangerous or illegal if taken out on a public highway.
Protect all vehicles under repair against damage and inspect each vehicle for damage and cleanliness upon completion of repair.
Attend recognized courses of instruction as required and assist in the training of apprentices upon assignment.
Maintain a high standard of cleanliness within the working area and a presentable personal appearance, ensuring to meet health and safety requirements.
Report any broken or faulty equipment to the Workshop Manager.
Experience and Qualifications
Time served Technician with City & Guilds or Equivalent.
