Glasgow
GBP 40,000 - 60,000
Job description

NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde is one of the largest healthcare systems in the UK employing around 40,000 staff in a wide range of clinical and non-clinical professions and job roles. We deliver acute hospital, primary, community and mental health care services to a population of over 1.15 million and a wider population of 2.2 million when our regional and national services are included.

The shift pattern for this position is 12 hrs nights/days. (Please note the salary is Pro Rata for part time hours.)

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Care Support Worker to join our Surgical and Vascular teams here at QEUH.

You will be working alongside our nursing team providing essential care to our patients with varied Vascular and surgical conditions. In our 28 bedded wards, you will provide care and meet the needs of a wide variety of patients within your remit. You will also be required to rotate to the 7 bedded Vascular annex. This may include complex care needs including pre and post-operative care and early rehabilitation.

A fundamental part of the role is to communicate with the Multidisciplinary team in enhancing the patient journey.

You will be responsible to the Senior Charge Nurse and the registered nurses but should be able to work on your own merit supervised by the wider nursing team. A qualification in Health and Social Care is preferred. Experience in health or social care would be beneficial. Development will be encouraged as part of your ongoing career with the NHS.

You will be working a fully rotational shift pattern of 12 hour days and nights.
