Barton Family Practice is looking to expand their team with a suitably qualified Health Care Assistant (HCA).
The post holder will work under the supervision of the Lead Nurse and will undertake tasks and duties delegated by the Nursing/GP team.
As a vital part of the clinical team, the Healthcare Assistant (HCA) supports the practice by delivering high-quality patient care under the supervision of the Lead Nurse. The role involves assisting with both clinical and administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the practice.
The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work collaboratively within a team.
Carrying out basic health checks (blood pressure, pulse, weight, height, BMI)
Assisting with chronic disease management (e.g., diabetes, IHD, AF, heart failure, hypertension reviews)
Administering flu and other vaccinations
Providing lifestyle advice
Supporting infection control and health promotion initiatives
Processing samples and maintaining clinical equipment
Administrative tasks to support patient care
Administrative commitment to support the practice achieve targets in QOF
