Job description

We have an excellent opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join the IPU at our Marie Curie Hospice in Cardiff and the Vale! If you're looking to gain experience on the ward register your interest and apply now!

Main duties of the job

Salary: Marie Curie Clinical Pay Scale Band 2 (aligned with AFC) £23,970 per annum + Enhancement

Hours: Full Time 37.5 hours per week

Contract Type: Permanent

Location: Cardiff and the Vale Hospice

Interview date: TBC

This is an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our team and help deliver care and support to people with life-limiting illnesses whilst also offering vital emotional support for their families. Ours is a one-to-one approach to care, so you're sure to enjoy plenty of meaningful contact with patients and their families - usually in their own homes.

Job responsibilities

What we are looking for:

  • Relevant community or palliative care experience
  • S/NVQ Level 2/3 qualification or an equivalent certificate/diploma or willing to work towards this
  • Willing to register with Social Care Wales
  • Emotional strength and the ability to work on your own are crucial, though we will of course provide excellent ongoing training and support

This role will be subject to receiving a satisfactory Enhanced criminal record check.
