We have an exciting opportunity for a Healthcare Assistant to join our Primary Care team at HMP Belmarsh, a category A prison located in London.

Hours

The site currently offers a 7 day a week service with 11 hour shifts between 7am and 7.30pm.

Salary

This position is full time, you'll receive an annual salary up to £28800 per annum - depending on experience.

Candidates are required to have a legal right to work in the UK and due to the nature of the role, offers of employment will be subject to additional vetting and security checks.

What you'll be doing

As a Healthcare Assistant, your responsibilities will vary. You will:
  • Support the registered nurse in implementing an agreed plan of care in association with the patient and in accordance with instructions and training received whilst promoting safe patient care.
  • Be willing to develop and apply new skills to maintain and enhance clinical service delivery.

Qualifications required
  • NVQ level 2/3 or equivalent in Health and Social Care.
  • A non-judgmental and compassionate approach.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Good IT skills and IT literacy.
  • Ability to work within a busy environment.
  • Ability to work unsupervised whilst following policy and procedures.

Although not essential, ideal applicants would have experience in a hospital, community, or prison environment.
