The Physical Health in Mental Health Team is seeking to appoint a Band 3 Health Care Support Worker on a full time, permanent contract, no evenings or weekend work.
The successful applicant will have an understanding of the monitoring of physical health for people who are prescribed psychotropic medications and a knowledge of community mental health services with previous experience of working within a multi-disciplinary care setting.
The successful applicant will have a willingness to undertake training to meet the needs of the service including performing ECG's and phlebotomy, which is a core part of the role. You will be a car driver and be willing to travel across various bases.
An ability to communicate in a courteous, helpful manner, demonstrating empathy and sensitivity in a variety of situations and building a rapport within a limited time frame is essential.
Main duties of the jobTo work as part of the Physical Health Team hosted by Pennine Locality, under the direction of the professional staff, supporting the provision of high quality holistic health care assessment to patients.
The Health Care Support worker will work within clinics in East Lancashire providing physical health monitoring and reporting for patients who are prescribed psychotropic medications. The physical health monitoring and screening will include Electrocardiogram (ECG) and venepuncture. Home visits will also be required to be undertaken.
To support other health care professionals in the provision of high quality care.
